Entry to the Baumber walled gardens and Gunby Hall and Gardens

Following our pickups we head to our first visit. Baumber Walled Gardens. An innovative and beautiful 4 acre walled garden, full of hidden surprises and vastly different from the traditional kitchen garden that it once was. Owned by designer and photographer, Sonia and David Elton. A project founded in 2006 when the house and gardens were derelict. First opened to the public in 2016.
Our second visit is to the Gunby Hall estate. A homely 1700 country house set in walled gardens at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Built for the quietly influential Massingberd family, the house features intimate rooms with homely décor and artistic works by notable names. Wander through the eight acres of Victorian walled gardens, where a thriving kitchen garden, pockets of wildflowers, and vibrant borders burst into striking seasonal colour, creative borders, and picture-perfect lawns. Estate walks offer refreshing scenic views of the flatlands. From the remnants of a medieval village to a charming red brick house with a Victorian flourish, Gunby was home to the Massingberd family for over 250 years-though the estate’s story stretches back even further.

The Cosy tea-room located in the former laundry building with its courtyard seating, serving sandwiches, snacks, hot and cold drinks and sweet treats.

Second hand bookshop. Tucked away in the former joiners’ workshop, full of quality reads waiting to be discovered just a stroll away from the courtyard.

Following our visit, we make our way back to Lincoln with our drop offs enroute.

This trip is suitable for all ages, singles, couples and families.
