Nostalgic return steam train journey, entrance to the Bronte Museum, free time to explore Haworth village
Following our pickups we head directly to the picturesque nostalgic Yorkshire village of Howarth.
A quaint village steeped in literary history; captivates visitors with it’s cobbled streets and storied Bronte Parsonage that echoes with the legacy of its famed sisters. The picturesque proportions of this Airedale village exude a vintage charm that makes you feel you’ve stepped into another era.
Our first visit is the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Entrance included. The former home of the Bronte Sisters and former vicarage to the adjoining village church. Walk in the footsteps and learn about the life of the sisters. You may also recognise the parsonage itself, used in the original Railway Children film as the Doctors house. With the village of Haworth used as the backdrop in the Railway Children.
From the museum you have free time to explore the village with its wonderful hilltop setting full of independent shops. Plenty of choice for lunch and refreshment in one of the many cafés, tearooms or pubs.
This afternoon we take a short drive down to the nearby Howarth station where we join our train for an afternoon return steam journey on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Made evermore famous as the setting of the railway of the Railway Children. Our journey takes us from Haworth to Keighley, passing through Oakworth station on the way Home to station Master Perks and his family in the film.
Following our Train journey we make our way back to Lincoln with our drop offs enroute.
This trip is suitable for all ages, singles, couples and families.
