Welcome & site introduction on arrival, 45-minute Land train guided tour.
Following our pick-ups we head directly to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. With our meet and great on arrival and a short welcome introductory talk. The Land Train Tour is included in our visit. We See the splendour of the Arboretum from the comfort of the covered land train with an accompanying 45- minute commentary.
The Arboretum is a space where everyone can celebrate lives lived and remember lives lost. A beautiful and inspiring place, the 150 acres forms a home for over 400 memorials waiting to be discovered. Tales of bravery shown in the most extraordinary of times. Selfless service and sacrifice, camaraderie and care are represented by the memorials. From the Armed Forces and Emergency Services to civilian organisations that supported our Nation in times of need. People from all walks of life are represented by the memorials, with designs that are rich in symbolism reflecting those they remember. Free daily talks share the bravery heroism and sheer resilience. Peaceful, colourful gardens abundant with wildlife. Indoor exhibitions including landscapes of life and the Far East Prisoner of War building. A chance to reflect over a cuppa whilst enjoying the restaurant facilities, serving beverages, light snacks and hot lunch meals.
We depart late afternoon and make our return to Lincolnshire and drop off’s.
