Day 1. Tuesday 2nd
We depart Lincoln, following our pickups and make our way southwards with a stop enroute at Roxton Garden centre for morning coffee. Onwards we make our way into the county of Kent for a visit to the Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and the famous Georgian pantiles area where you can enjoy a visit to the many boutique shops and café s for lunch. We continue our journey onwards into East Sussex and arrive at the Elegant Regent stylish 4-star seafront Hydro hotel late afternoon, where we stay for the next 4 nights. Situated at the foot of the south downs, with wonderful views of the downs and the sea. The hotel has lovely front gardens to enjoy, along with the croquet lawn. And the nearby hidden Hollywell gardens are always worth a stroll. Free use of the hotel outdoor pool is included here and evening dinner.
Day 2. Wednesday 3rd
After Breakfast we take a scenic journey into the Southdown’s, passing through the scenic Beachy head and Birling Gap areas with time for a photo stop. A picturesque drive through the Cuckmere Valley and onwards to the Regency seaside town of Brighton. Free time here to explore the famous lanes with its small independent and boutique shops. Time for fish & chips or ice cream, enjoy one of the many eateries or pubs for a lunch stop.
Take a ride on the Vaulks seafront light railway, visit the Victorian pier, Ride on the big wheel, enjoy the shops of the town, take a stroll on the beech maybe even some sunbathing. Visit the famous Regent pavilion or Sealife centre and the many other attractions. We return to our hotel late afternoon. Evening dinner included.
Day 3. Thursday 4th
After breakfast Join us on our Optional excursion to Bodiam Castle. We step back into history as we visit the 14th century moated Castle, with its ruined interior features spiral staircases, battlements and portcullis. A medieval symbol of prestige and hosted high society from turbulent times. We return to Eastbourne mid-afternoon with an optional drop off in the town centre and shopping area. Evening dinner included.
Day 4. Friday 5th
After breakfast we head along the coast route to the Victorian town of Hastings. We drop close to the old town where you can enjoy the many independent shops along the pedestrian walkway, plenty of choice here for lunch and beverage. Don’t forget to visit the Turkish delight maker. Take the cliff funicular train up to the cliff top, where you can enjoy the wonderful views or visit the smugglers caves. We return to the hotel late afternoon. Evening dinner included.
Day 5. Saturday 6th
After a leisurely breakfast we depart the hotel, and Eastbourne late morning as we begin our return journey. First a visit to Chartwell, the country private home of Sir Winston Churchill for over 40 years. Here we visit both the house and garden which was close in the heart and loved by Winston and Lady Churchill. A great house and wonderful gardens. Today cared for by the National trust. Also, with some time to enjoy tea & cake in the restaurant. We continue our journey back with a short comfort stop enroute and arrive Lincolnshire early evening to make our drop offs and say farewell.
