Seven nights with full Scottish breakfast, Six evening dinners, all visit entrances to Drumnadrochit and the Loch Ness experience, Blair Castle, Scone Palace, Stirling Castle and Glengoyne Whiskey Distillery tour.

Optional excursions include: Day 3 Loch Ness cruise & Urquhart Castle Day 5  Kelpies, Falkland, Culross & Midhope (Lallybroch)

Dave your driver will be safely driving you with his 28 years coaching experience around the beautiful Highlands and throughout the tour.  Julie your hostess will be looking after you onboard the coach and serving drinks and light snacks throughout.

 

Day 1. Sunday
Following our pick-ups, we head north to the land of clans, tartan, lochs, glens, myths, legends and whiskey. Stops at Gretna Green with an opportunity to visit the famous blacksmiths and browse the gift shops. And a visit to the beautiful village of Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond. O/N at the 3-star hotel the Winnock at Drymen where dinner, bed and breakfast are included.

 

Day 2. Monday
Today we shall take in some of the most beautiful and breath-taking views as we enter the Highlands. Passing endless lochs, glens, mountains, wildlife and scenery through the Glencoe region. We visit Glenfinnan, famous for the Jacobite train and viaduct as used within the Harry Potter films. Also, an opportunity to visit the Bonnie Prince Charlie Jacobite monument and take in the wonderful scenery overlooking loch Sheil. A photo stop at the Commando memorial enroute to our next visit, at the Drumnadrochit Loch Ness experience visit via the wild scenery of the famous loch Ness itself. Overnight at the 4-star Kingsmill hotel and Spa Inverness where we spend two nights with breakfast and dinner included. Use of hotel pool and spa facilities included.

 

Day 3. Tuesday
A free day or take our, Optional excursion Includes: Loch Ness Cruise and Urquhart Castle. Dinner is not included tonight. An opportunity to spend the evening exploring the Highlands capital with its many restaurants. Or take our optional hotel  3 course evening dinner. Overnight at the Kingsmill Hotel Inverness.

 

Day 4. Wednesday   
Learn the history of the clans, Jacobite’s and English redcoats as we head to the Culloden battlefield. A chance to step back in history and learn about the bloody battle. For Outlander fans maybe you might just find the clan Frazer stone. We make a short visit to the bronze age Clava Cairns. And onwards to Blair Castle, the Athol family home for over 700 years. An opportunity to explore and enjoy this wonderful home, castle and gardens. Overnight at the 3-star Woodlands hotel Dundee, where we spend two nights with breakfast and Dinner included. A small charge to use the hotel pool and gym facilities.

 

Day 5. Thursday  
A free day or take our optional day tour includes visits to the Kelpies and the villages of Falkland and Culross, a must for any Outlander fan, where you will recognise many of the buildings and scenery. A short, guided tour at the ruins of Midhope Castle, or better known as Lallybroch. The family home of Jamie Frazer in the Outlander TV series. Overnight at the Woodlands Dundee Dinner included.

 

Day 6. Friday   
We head to Scone Palace to explore the place of Scottish’s crowns and coronations. Famous for the legendry missing stone of Scone. We also visit Stirling Castle with an opportunity to join one of the free guided tours around the castle and learn of the many battles undertaken by the Scots in their fight for freedom. Overnight at the 4-star Buchanan Arms hotel Drymen, where we spend two nights with breakfast and dinner included. Use of the hotel pool and spa included.

 

Day 7. Saturday
Morning visit to the Glengoyne Whiskey Distillery tour. Free afternoon. Overnight at the Buchanan Arms Drymen. Dinner included.

 

Day 8. Sunday
We head south to the famous Moffatt woollen mill and an opportunity to purchase some souvenirs and memories of this most beautiful country. Maybe some shortbread, whiskey or tartan. As we leave the borders we head to Carlisle for a short visit before returning to Lincoln.
