Day 1:

Following our pick-ups we head south, with a mid-morning comfort stop at Roxton Garden centre enroute to the county of Kent for our first visit, Hever Castle. Set in 125 acres of glorious grounds. The 14th century Hever Castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. It formed the unlikely backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of Britan’s history, monarchy and religion, making it one of the most fascinating castles in Kent. You will discover the award-winning gardens and a rich and varied history, laid out in 1904 and 1908. Marvel at the Pompeiian Wall and classic Statuary in the Italian Garden. Inhale the fragrance of over 5,000 rose bushes in the English Rose Garden. View the many cascades, grottoes and fountains. Tudor Garden, and Rhododendron Walk. We depart mid-afternoon and arrive our hotel the 4-star Mercure near Tunbridge Wells late-afternoon. A hotel of character Based in a former 18th century oast house. Dinner included.

Day 2:
After a relaxed hearty breakfast, we head to the nearby Georgion Pantiles for a short morning coffee stop. Take in the treasure of this once royal Spa town. We then head to Sissinghurst Gardens. Historic, poetic, iconic, a refuge dedicated to beauty. Vita Sackville-West, the poet and writer and Harold Nicolson her husband, diplomat and author, fell in love with Sissinghurst Castle and created a world-renowned garden. Refecting the romance and intimacy of her poems and writings. From a prison in the 1700’s to being a home to the women’s land army, and family home. Enjoy lunch in the Granary restaurant or tea and cake in the old dairy café. We return our hotel late afternoon. Dinner included.

Day 3:
After breakfast we depart our hotel and head to Penshurst Place and gardens. A grand 14th century house, once the property of King Henry VIII. The Sidney family have occupied this family home for over 470 years making it the oldest family-owned estate and one of the best examples of a fortified medieval manor house in England. Discover the charm of the State Rooms, antique furniture and tapestries. Explore the 11 acres of formal walled gardens, discovering hidden corners brimming with fruit trees, an abundance of tulips, roses, colourful borders and water features. Take a lunch opportunity in the Porcupine Pantry and visit the gift shop for a souvenir. We depart early afternoon and make our return to Lincolnshire early evening with our drop offs.
