Day 1 – Roxton Garden Centre & Bridgewood Manor Hotel
Your holiday begins with convenient local pick-ups before travelling in comfort towards Kent. En-route, we'll stop at the popular Roxton Garden Centre, where you'll have time to browse the extensive shops, discover inspiring home and garden ideas, and enjoy lunch in the café, famous for its delicious carvery. Later, we'll arrive at the stylish Bridgewood Manor Hotel & Spa, where you'll settle into your comfortable room before enjoying an included evening dinner. Why not make the most of the hotel's excellent leisure facilities, including the indoor swimming pool, before relaxing for the evening?
Day 2 – Chatham Historic Dockyard & Call the Midwife Tour
After breakfast, we travel to the remarkable Chatham Historic Dockyard, one of Britain's most important maritime heritage sites and the filming location for many of the outdoor scenes in the BBC's beloved Call the Midwife. The highlight of the day is a fascinating 90-minute guided walking tour, led by a costumed midwife who brings the series to life with behind-the-scenes stories, photographs and filming secrets. Wander through the cobbled streets that became Poplar, visit recognisable filming locations including the Grosvenor Hotel and Chammy's Hill, and discover the authentic sets, costumes and props that have made the series so popular. You'll also have plenty of time to explore the dockyard's outstanding attractions, including the historic warships, fascinating galleries and the impressive Victorian Ropery. Optional visits to the submarine are available, subject to timed admission booked on the day. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon for another delicious evening meal.
Day 3 – Historic Rochester
Following a leisurely breakfast, we leave the hotel and head to the picturesque riverside town of Rochester, one of Kent's most historic destinations. Enjoy free time to explore its charming streets, independent shops and cafés, or admire the magnificent Rochester Castle, home to one of England's finest surviving Norman stone keeps (entrance not included). It's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch before we begin our comfortable journey home, making a refreshment stop along the way before returning to Lincolnshire in the early evening.
