Enjoy a five-day escape to Eastbourne and 1066 Country, staying four nights at the 4-star Langham Hotel. Discover Royal Tunbridge Wells, the South Downs, Beachy Head, Battle Abbey, Pevensey Castle and historic Rye, combining spectacular scenery, fascinating history, seaside charm, shopping and relaxing free time.

Your Holiday Includes

Day 1 – Royal Tunbridge Wells & Eastbourne

We depart Lincolnshire with convenient local pick-ups before heading south, with a morning stop at Roxton Garden Centre. We continue to Royal Tunbridge Wells, where you can explore the elegant Georgian Pantiles, browse independent shops and enjoy lunch in one of the many cafés. We then continue into East Sussex and arrive at the stylish seafront Langham Hotel, our home for four nights.

 

Day 2 – South Downs, Beachy Head & Alfriston

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic journey through the South Downs, with photo stops at spectacular Beachy Head and Birling Gap. We travel through the beautiful Cuckmere Valley to charming Alfriston, where you can explore this delightful village and visit the historic Clergy House. We then continue to Paradise Park Garden Centre before returning to Eastbourne mid-afternoon, with the opportunity to enjoy the town's shops and attractions.

 

Day 3 – Battle & 1066 Country

Today we step back into England's fascinating history with a visit to Battle Abbey, built on the site of the famous 1066 Battle of Hastings. Entrance is included. After time for lunch, we continue to Pevensey Castle, another important landmark in the story of the Norman Conquest. This evening, why not join our optional local pub tour?

 

Day 4 – Rye & the Sussex Coast

We travel along the coast to the historic Cinque Port town of Rye. Explore its cobbled streets, craft shops, market and fascinating historic buildings, including Lamb House, St Mary's Church and Ypres Tower. There is plenty of time to enjoy lunch and soak up the atmosphere before returning to Eastbourne mid-afternoon.

 

Day 5 – Homeward Bound

After a leisurely morning, we leave Eastbourne and begin our journey home, with a comfort stop en route before arriving back in Lincolnshire during the early evening.
