Day 1 – Journey to Düsseldorf

Following our early morning local pick-ups, settle back and relax as we travel south, with a comfort stop en route to Folkestone. Here we board our planned LeShuttle service for the Channel crossing to Calais.

Arriving in France, we continue through France and into Germany, with comfort stops along the way, before reaching our Düsseldorf hotel. The Melia Düsseldorf will be our comfortable base for the next four nights, ideally placing us for our festive German adventure.

Day 2 – Düsseldorf Christmas Markets

After breakfast, the whole day is yours to discover Düsseldorf at Christmas. During the festive season, the city centre is transformed with sparkling lights, decorated streets and atmospheric Christmas markets.

Wander between the market areas, browse traditional stalls for gifts and decorations, and perhaps treat yourself to warming seasonal food and drink. With the markets spread throughout the compact city centre, there is plenty of time to explore at a relaxed pace and soak up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere.

Day 3 – Aachen Christmas Markets

Following breakfast, we travel to the historic city of Aachen, where the squares and streets take on a magical festive appearance.

Enjoy free time amongst colourful lights and inviting market stalls filled with handcrafted gifts, Christmas decorations and tempting German specialities. Aachen provides a delightful traditional setting in which to enjoy the sights, sounds and flavours of Christmas. We depart in the early evening and return to Düsseldorf.

Day 4 – Cologne Christmas Markets

Today we visit magnificent Cologne, home to one of Germany’s most famous Christmas market settings. Browse the festive stalls beneath the dramatic towers of Cologne Cathedral, creating an unforgettable backdrop to your Christmas shopping.

Take a stroll into the atmospheric Old Town and discover the traditional market around Alter Markt, where rustic wooden stalls fill the cobbled square with gifts, decorations and seasonal food. Keep an eye out for the charming gnomes decorating the market!

Later, we return to our Düsseldorf hotel.

Day 5 – Homeward Journey

After breakfast, we check out and begin our journey home. We travel back towards Calais for our planned LeShuttle crossing to Folkestone, with an opportunity for duty-free shopping where timings allow.

Back in Britain, we continue northwards with a comfort stop before making our local drop-offs, arriving back in Lincoln during the late evening.

Please note: Evening meals are not included and may be available to book and purchase at the hotel. German Christmas markets can become extremely busy, which should be considered by guests with limited mobility. The planned Channel crossing is via LeShuttle but may be changed to a ferry in exceptional circumstances beyond our control, which could affect timings.

Travel insurance is compulsory for this tour.

Travel in comfort throughout your holiday with our executive coach and friendly on-board hostess service, available throughout the tour to help make your journey as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.

Each passenger may bring:

• 1 standard-sized suitcase or bag for the coach luggage hold
• 1 small hand luggage bag for the overhead luggage rack

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be accommodated subject to available luggage space and must be requested when making your booking, so we can make the necessary arrangements in advance.
