Day 1.
Following our pickups, we head directly to the Sandringham Estate. The much-loved country retreat of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The estate includes an organic farm, sawmill, residential and commercial properties, local parishes and communities nestled in the heart of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy access to eight rooms inside Sandringham House and 60 acres of seasonal Gardens, enjoyed by the Royal Family and their guests when in residence. Enjoy a light bite, or sweet treat in the Courtyard café or the relaxed Sandringham Restaurant for a tasty lunch. Also, an opportunity to visit the Sandringham shop for some gifts or treat.
We arrive mid-afternoon and check into the 4-star Dunston Hall and Spa. Free use of the pool and leisure centre is included. An 1859 Elizabethan revival style Grade 2 listed building and country retreat in the village of Dunston, tucked away in rural Norfolk. Ready to relax with a pre-dinner drink before we enjoy our included evening dinner.
Day 2.
For our Optional excursion today, we spend the morning in the seaside town of Great Yarmouth. Regarded as Nelsons town due to his Naval connections with the town. With much of the County and town being dedicated to the great Admiral himself. Early afternoon we travel to the village of Horning where we join the Southern Comfort Mississippi paddle boat for our Norfolk Broads cruise. We explore the beauty of the Norfolk Broads with a 1.5-hour relaxing pace cruise to Malthouse Broad and back. Passing lovely old, thatched houses, windmills and Norfolk reed beds. Along with commentary and the plentiful wildlife.
Day 3.
We head to the truly unique and world famous Thursford today. Thursford started life as a private collection of traction engines, mechanical organs. This private collection is now one its best in the world and includes old fashion fairground carousels. Our visit includes a steam tour and Tea. Welcome refreshments, tour and talk around the museum, The showman’s Engine being put into steam, Robert Wolfe Wurlitzer show, and a Steam tea. Free time to explore the endless nostalgic collection and visit the onsite shops. We return to our hotel late afternoon.
Day 4. Departure Day
We check out and depart our hotel and make our way into Norwich for some free time to explore the city, its castle, attractions and shops. We highly recommend taking a guided sightseeing tour of this vibrant and historical city. Englands first UNESCO City of Literature. Street food, pop-up shops, and traditional stalls to independent stores. At one point only second to London, Norwich is home to one of the country’s largest medieval Cathedral. And the home of Colman’s mustard. We depart Norwich early afternoon and make our return journey. Arriving back in Lincolnshire early evening.
For anyone wishing to visit the city centre in the evenings, Norwich is located 5 miles from the hotel. Please see hotel reception for information regarding to local bus and taxi services.
